Oliver's Big Yellow Excavator

He started doing this thing recently where he would do 'small eyes' and then 'big eyes'  It is so funny.

His interests this year are rockets, trains and excavators.  I found a styrofoam space shuttle at a hobby store and had to get it for him.  He loved it, landed it on the cat, and then proceeded to stab a screwdriver through the wing.  It lasted about an hour before the wing was broken and I was reinforcing it with packing tape.

Every time we go to the Wegmans replacement grocery store here Hoot Belly loves to look at the live crabs.  We decided to get some for Christmas Eve dinner this year and he was super excited.  He saved a small piece of cookie the whole way to the store to give to the crab.  He didn't want to eat them though.

I can't believe that he requests to watch Dorothy's 50's movies.  He requests Pillow Talk by name now.  That part he got from Dorothy.

We got him this little train table because he loves the one in Barns and Noble

Christmas for Hoot Belly was over when he opened the excavator he got.  His other few small presents went unopened because he was busy digging all day.

Oliver and the Christmas Tree

I didn't have to work this Thanksgiving and Doro made us a great little Thanksgiving dinner.  Oliver had his own plate that he wasn't all that interested in.  Big surprise there.

One of our favorite games is building a 'big rocket' with his megablocks.  It is my job to come up with a stable base so that he can build the tallest rocket possible.  It doesn't last long before he decides it is time to knock it over and start again.

Doro had some other kids over to make and decorate christmas cookies.  Oliver got really into decorating them, and then really into eating them.

Doro takes him to the library once a week for story time and to find new books.  Last time he toddled off and then came back with a space shuttle DVD.  He absolutely loves it.  When we ask him if he is going to be a scientist, he replays, ' no, a rocket man.'

Poor kitty.

Whenever we visit our favorite doughnut shop Oliver picks out his doughnut.  This time it was a gigantic ring that he kept rotating to get a good bite from.

We found a christmas tree farm to find and cut our own tree.  Oliver loved riding in the wagon they let us use, and then was super excited to help me cut the tree down.  He had to have his little hands on the saw.

As we were leaving the christmas tree farm Doro yelled at me to stop the car, then she opened the door and bolted outside.  I wasn't sure what was going on, but she came back super excited with this amazing mushroom.  We then made off with a christmas tree and a christmas mushroom.

He was super excited to help decorate the tree.  His ratio of successful bulbs hung to bulbs broken was probably in the range of 1:4, but he loved it.

He also loves the daily chocolate he gets from opening the door on his advent calendar.

Oliver and the Cat Treats

Oliver loves to give the cat treats.  He took the bottle of treats, dumped them all into his truck and then drove it over to feed the cat.

Oliver, show me your big rocket

Oliver got his hair cut again.  He looks so grown up without his shaggy hair.

Oliver's Meow

Oliver sometimes refers to himself as 'Meow' and then wants to drink from a water bowl on the floor next to the cat.   He loves playing with him.  He drags Doro's apron around so the cat will chase him, or Doro ties a tail around his waist and then he runs around.  It is really cute, almost as cute as his rocket jammies.

Now that it started raining we found him a pair of rubber boots.  It came down between plain blue ones and some with lightning McQueen on them, which he loves.  We were both surprised when he refused to put down the blue ones in the store.  He loves them.

His new head lamp.

I wanted a picture of his cute striped socks and then he started standing on one foot and showing his feet to me.  I didn't know he could do that.  The stripe on his forehead is from the beef bouillon cube in his right hand that he is licking.
Today Doro was talking to her mom when Oliver climbed on top of her and snuggled into the chair.

This is at the naval undersea museum by our house.   He loves going there to see the 'big rockets'
