Oliver and Ewan's First Summer Together

We figured out that the beach umbrella, which didn't work at the beach, was perfect for  shielding his pool, and all the construction vehicles that end up in it.
Baby Ewan

Oliver turned 3 when Grandma Cathy was here.  All he wanted was a big fire truck, and Doro made him a fire truck cake.

We tried to go to the beach, but it was cold and windy.

I made these onsies when Oliver was born, but he was so big that he never  fit into them.

"I always wanted binoculars"

Oliver goes on Saturdays to Lowes for his little build projects.  We usually count down the days until the next "lowes day"   He loves getting dressed up in his apron and safety glasses.

Doro had a picnic with Ewan and Oliver in the back yard, which then somehow turned into a parking lot for all of his trucks.

Look at my parking lot.

Front end loader, in the pool, naked.  Not surprised.

There is this little park at the end of our street and the other day there were two old ships out on the water doing a display of old war strategies, including fake cannon fire.  It was pretty interesting, and Oliver busted out into the water.

Oliver's Baby Brother - The Newt Belly

We took Doro belly pictures the afternoon before he was born.  Perfect timing.
Meet Ewan Peter Voelckers.  He was born on June 14th at 11:20 at the Naval Hospital.  Doro did a great job and he came out perfectly healthy.  We are so happy to have him here with us.

The baby got a lego garbage truck for Oliver which we put together and he played with at the hospital.

When we were expecting Oliver I made these newborn onsies for him, but he was too big when he was born.

I love it when they are so little that they sleep like little tree frogs.

When Oliver was brand new he wore these pajamas and we took a picture of him just like this.    I can't believe how similar they look.

Oliver be a big big big fireman.  He looks huge next to the Ewan now.

Oliver Digs Again

Before the baby was born Oliver would hug Doro's belly and say "I love you baby"

I came out of the house one day, stood on the porch and saw this.  It is Oliver digging and filling up his dump trucks at his construction site, and Doro digging next to him.  As soon as I saw this I knew I needed a picture of it because I knew it was the picture of a great mom.

We drove all the way back to Ocean Shores so that Oliver could dig in the sand.  It was cold and rained almost the entire time, but stopped long enough to get some good digging in.  He made me dig this huge ditch so he could drive his dump truck through it.  He had so much fun.

Oliver's Night Shirt

Grandma Cathy sent Oliver a night shirt with a big fire truck on it.  He is so excited to wear it.

When he is done eating at the table and wants to get down he stands up, lifts his shirt, shows us how big his belly is and makes his 'excited eyes.'  It usually wins us over.

Oliver likes to run around naked in the house sometimes and has  realized that peeing outside the back door onto the deck is faster than going all the way to the bathroom.  This particular time he was really excited about it and kept saying that he was going to drink more water so that he could pee more.

On our last IKEA trip he was so tired when we got there that we grabbed some pillows and make him a shopping cart bed.  Everybody there kept telling us what a great idea it was.  We felt a little bad stuffing the drooled on pillows into the bedding shelves before we left.
